Emotional Intelligence and Workforce Diversity
Roundtable Description
This course enables participants to understand and manage their emotional responses and give them the tools to work more effectively by resolving conflict in ways that build relationships.
Emotional Intelligence is one of the most relevant topics in today’s diverse workplace. Understanding and managing ourselves is not enough; we also need to understand others in order to figure out the reasons and meaning behind their behavior. While human beings function on both rational and emotional levels, emotions are at the heart of our energy, commitment, and motivation. Feelings are also fundamental in forming our reactions to the differences we see in others, whether we approach or avoid, like or dislike, and accept or reject. Once we understand and manage our emotional responses, we will have more productive interactions, maximize teamwork, and strengthen group performance and coordination.
During this course, participants will present an issue they are currently dealing with and receive input through a facilitated discussion with their peers.
